US Artists coming to Korea!


With the advent of Korean stars trying to make it big in America, it's only fitting that US stars do the reverse and come to Korea. Pop diva Whitney Houston and boy band, Backstreet Boys takes a jab in Korea



Whitney Houston who debuted back in 1985, dazzled the world with her unique and strong mezzo-soprano voice. She went on to become one's of the world's top artists, and her song, "I Will Always Love You" became one of the best selling singles in music history. She won six Grammy Awards (an American music awards show), sold over 170 million albums worldwide, and listed as one of "The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time" according to Rolling Stone magazine.

In 2002, Whitney went through tough times dealing with a drug addiction, going to rehab, as well as going through a divorce with her equally famous husband, R&B singer, Bobby Brown.

Whitney made her comeback in September of 2009 with her new album " I look to you" and she will be making a stop in Seoul as part of her ``Nothing But Love World Tour''.

She will perform on Feb. 6 and 7, at the Gymnastic Stadium, Olympic Park, Seoul. Tickets cost from 70,000 to 180,000 won ($62-$160 USD).

Remember the Backstreet Boys? One of the biggest boy bands in the world back in the late 90's? The heartthrobs that made girls who listened to them fall madly in love with their ballads and slick dance moves?

Backstreet Boys originally had five members: Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, A. J. McLean, Nick Carter and Kevin Richardson. Back in 2006, Kevin Richardson left the band. The group is has been considered to be one the 'best selling boy band of all time' with over 100 million albums sold worldwide.

Having released over seven successful albums, they are promoting their latest album "Unbreakable" by embarking on an "Unbreakable World Tour" with several dates in Asia and Australia.

The boys performed in Seoul once back in 2006 and will return to Seoul on March 8th, 2010 at the Olympic Fencing Gymnasium, Olympic Park. The VIP tickets are 165,000 won ($146USD). Other tickets range from 55,000 won to 132,000 won ($48-$117USD).
