What are the archives of Tohoshinki in NHK?
I checked once again for Tohoshinki’s set list which was previously shot by our Music Japan team.
First of all, there were 16 songs which we took the vote for "Tohoshinki Special". (T/N: last year.)
These were songs starting from "Somebody To Love" of 2005 to "Beautiful You" of 2008.
And as I have already introduced to you in this blog, we were also staffs of "Music Express" of BS2. (T/N: satellite channel for NHK)
In this program, we broadcasted "Asuwa kuru kara" in 2006. Oh, one of the readers here informed us of another song in the blog’s comments. "Choosy Lover" of 2007. This version was shot on the same date as "Rising Sun" in "Pop jam" at the NHK Hall, so this is the 4 persons’ version, excluding Jaejoong. Thus, up to here, total is 18 songs.
For the "Tohoshinki Special", we have shot "MIROTIC" and "Love in the Ice", so the total comes out to 20 songs.
In addition, "Doumini coopere kimiwo sukini natte shimattandarou?" and "Choosey Lover" on our special program "Koiuta2008" And, last year’s Kouhaku "Purple Line ~ Doumini coopere?" (T/N: medley) So up to 23 songs here.
Still continuing. For 2009. During the regular MJ programs, 4 songs were shot, "Bolero", "Survivior", "Stand by U", and "COLORS ~Melody and Harmony~" (of Jaejoong and Yoochun).
In the special program "Haru uta 2009", "Asuwa kuru kara". In "Eco uta 2009", "Stand by U". So there are total 29 songs. These should be the songs shot by our MJ staff. (Please correct me in the comment column if I’ve made a mistake, or think that there are some songs still missing.) These 29 songs were the songs filmed by me as PD. Oh, there are many songs.
We belong to the "Entertainment program section" in NHK’s "Production department", and the staff room next door is the staff for "Kayou Concert". Though we differ in our characteristic styles for our targeted performances, we get along well.
Tohoshinki participated in "Kayou Concert" once, this March, and sung "Bolero". Since this is our neighbor’s program, we can add it to the list, thus, total 30 songs.
And, we can add the song for this year’s Kouhaku. When we take a vote for "The Tohoshinki I want to watch once more", we will select from these 31 songs. (If, we make the special version 2)
What songs do you think will be ranked on the top?
Since there are many new fans nowadays, the songs from their first period maybe selected?
Or, the rare "Sennen Koiuta, Japanese version" ? "MIROTIC"?
Or, "Love In The Ice" which is difficult to watch on TV programs?
Tohoshinki fans, let’s have fun guessing.
By the way, don’t you think that many of Tohoshinki songs’ title begins with "S"?
(I thought during a-nation this year that there are many songs starting with "S".
In the next special, maybe we can play a game trying to bring out all the song titles for Tohoshinki.
This is a side story, Tohoshinki has made many nice & funny talks, but considering from everyone’s messages, the best was "Roaring laughter talk with Tsutomu Sekine, when they met for the first time".
There was a very maniac comment, an item from last year’s "Koi uta".
Since the talk and performance was carried on in different studios, we had to make a move during the live shooting. There was a comment , "I want to see Ishihara PD escorting Tohoshinki" once more, lol.

I can see 383 comments on the topic. I haven’t calculated in details, but it seems that approx 15-20% of the comments have been sent from our international friends! Wow~~~~~ I am sure that Ishihara PD checked all the comments.
