Group TVXQ decided last weekend that they would continue on with their Shanghai Concert as planned on October 2nd. One representative stated, "Last weekend, the members of TVXQ all decided that they should go through with their concert in Shanghai, China. Since a lot of Chinese fans have already bought tickets, the members decided not to cancel the concert to keep their promise with their fans."
At the time, whether TVXQ would go through with the concert or not was a mystery as the concert that was supposed to be held in Shanghai on the 12th this month was already canceled for unknown reasons. It would have been hard for the five members to be on one stage as they had conflicting viewpoints regarding their dispute with their agency. There were also opinions that the concert was not held due to the rapid spread of the H1N1 virus. The aforementioned representative stated, "This Shanghai concert will be a chance for TVXQ to show their fans that they are one."
This Shanghai concert is garnering attention as many are curious as to how it will affect TVXQ's future activities. At the time when the October 2nd concert was not confirmed, some Chinese and Japanese media reports speculated that this concert in Shanghai could be a farewell concert for the group. Now that the concert has been confirmed, there were shocking opinions that stated that this concert could be the last time the five members stood on one stage together.
In retaliation, fans stated that this concert was not the group's last concert but one that would show the strong bond amongst the members and refute any disbandment rumors that may still be spreading.
Another representative said, "The verdict for the lawsuit some of the members of TVXQ filed against their agency will soon be announced. By October 2nd, the relationship between SM Entertainment and the members of TVXQ will probably differ greatly. This is why the five members of TVXQ, after conferring with SM Entertainment, decided to go through with the concert. The H1N1 virus or any other aspect will not be an obstacle to this concert."
TVXQ members Xiah Junsu, YoungWoong Jaejoong, and Micky Yoochun filed an exclusive contract suspension request against their agency SM Entertainment and the future of the group has become the center of attention in the industry. The verdict will be coming out sometime this month.
